Karnataka State Board of Auqaf (waqf) revised its circular that stopped mosque and dargah management from using loudspeakers between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. It said the circular was misinterpreted. “Prohibition of using loudspeakers was misinterpreted as prohibition for morning Azan…Nothing will prevent morning Azan using loudspeaker by complying with standards prescribed,” new circular stated.
