India has reported its highest number of COVID-19 cases in 24 hours for the second day in a row this year with 35,871 new cases. The country reported 172 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 1,59,216. The total COVID-19 cases in the country stand at 1,14,74,605, while the active cases stand at 2,52,364.
