India Records 3.86 Lakh Fresh Covid-19 Infections, Active Cases Cross 30 Lakh
Assam reported 3,079 new Covid-19 cases which took the tally to 2,49,92626
India on Friday reported 3,86,452 fresh Covid-19 cases with 3,498 fatalities according to the Union Health Ministry. The number of active cases has crossed 30 lakh for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.
As per the data, Maharashtra is reporting the country’s highest cases followed by Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi.
Meanwhile, Assam reported 3,079 new Covid-19 cases which took the tally to 2,49,92626 and 26 deaths pushed the death toll to 1,281.
According to the data provided by Health Ministry, Mizoram, which has the third least number of Covid-19 cases in the country after Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands also reported 139 new cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally to 6,019.
However, the number of people who have recovered from the disease has surged to 1,50, 86,878.
It is to be mentioned that even though the registration of vaccination drive for the age group of 18-44 years started on April 28, many states are uncertain about the availability of enough vaccine doses leading to the delay of the third phase of vaccination.
