Photographer JP Metsavainio: collected data from 2009-2021 to create image of Milky Way
Finnish photographer JP Metsavainio collected data from 2009-2021 with a total exposure time of around 1,250 hours to create a high-resolution gigapixel class mosaic image of the Milky Way. The final photo is about 1,00,000 pixels wide, made with 234 individual mosaic panels stitched together. He captured the entire galaxy and 20 million stars within the Milky Way.
